Wasp Volumes

Pirates, slavers and traffickers are running rife throughout the galaxy, lurking in the void, ready to pounce on innocent travellers and colonists. The scale of the problem is fast overwhelming Space Force. Their strategy is to train and deploy covert teams, to get up close and personal and disrupt from within. Personnel for Wasp teams are selected for their inherent ability to match the ruthlessness and depravity of the marauding crews. These elite teams are sanctioned to deal with the enemy in any way they see fit.

Gerone is leader of the newly trained Wasp team. Descended from a North American Native and an Aluxxion high born, he has inherited the stunning looks, charisma, intelligence and raw savagery of his ancestors. During his time at the Space Force Lyceum, his instructors were blown away, by his insight, quick wits and stark brutality. He and his team, barely out of their teens, embark on their first mission, after an unimaginably vicious attack on Earth Natives, perpetrated by the infamous marauder, Jon Oberon and his pirate crew.

From the outset, nothing goes according to plan. An arrogant, soon to be qualified doctor, reluctantly agrees to serve as ships medic, but his agenda differs widely from that of his fellow crew. A grandmother, a boy child and a young, twentieth century woman, thought to be the only person to have survived a cryogenic freezing process, are ‘stowaways’ on board the Comanche, Gerone’s state of the art battlecruiser

An SOS from a space convoy, and the rescue of survivors, forces the team to reflect on, and evaluate the reasons for their selection into the military. The truth they have to face, could send them over the edge and turn them rogue, resulting in a catastrophic predicament for Space Force.
